| Description | The Elan is our do anything bike. It's a light tourer, or you can fit big tyres and hit the trails, or light wheels and join the chaingang. Custom tube profiles as well as sizes mean its stiff enough to be quick, but not so stiff to be uncomfortable. The tall front end means you can get the bars level with the saddle, even though a carbon steerer limits the number of spacers. (If you want more height, or front panniers, there is a steel fork*.) Frame - 3Al/2.5V titanium straight gauge seamless tubing. Bright brush frame finish with sandblast graphics. Price includes frame and Elan Mk1 Cro-Mo Steel or Carbon/Alloy forks. The frame's headtube and BB shell will be faced. Headset not included (Recommended headset: FSA Orbit ITA). The headset will be fitted if purchased with the frameset. NB. The Cro-Mo Steel Fork has a straight (non-tapered) 1 1/8" steerer tube. - fitting this fork to an Elan frame with a FSA Orbit ITA Headset requires the Elvedes 1.5 - 1 1/8" Crown Race Reducer (in lieu of the Crown Race supplied with the ITA Headset). - fitting this fork to an Elan frame with a Hope Pick n'Mix Headset requires the Hope 1.5 - 1 1/8" Reducer, plus the Crown Race as supplied with the Hope Headset.
